Ogc getmap request

Web Map Service (WMS) ¶ The 1.1.0 and 1.3.0 WMS standards implemented in QGIS Server provide a HTTP interface to request map or legend images generated from a QGIS project. A typical WMS request defines the QGIS project to use, the layers to render as well as the image format to generate. “wms_force_separate_request” metadata - set this to “1” to force this WMS layer to be requested using its own separate GetMap request. By default MapServer will try to merge multiple adjacent WMS layers from the same server into a single multi-layer GetMap request to reduce the load on remote servers and improve response time. I need to be able to 'post' some XML to Geoserver WMS GetMap and get an image back. I have some valid XML which I can test using the 'demo' feature on Geoserver and it returns an image as expected. However, I can't seem to figure out the mechanism I need to use to generate the same request and response in PHP. The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Map Service (WMS) specification provides a pattern for serving maps through web services. The WMS receives a request detailing the bounding box (or extent) of the map, the layers to include, the projection to use, and other parameters.
